These are very rare shots taken inside the shed at Taza (it is normally locked and barred)

Photography is very difficult due to the positioning of the locos

The locos and unit are stored there for the planned Morocco Railway Museum

Thomas Kautzor advises that more preserved items for the museum are stored at :

Marrakech depot : E 621

Casablanca Voyageurs depot  :  040 DA 311, DD 455, E 501, E 704, E 904

Meknes workshops  :  020 DE 474, 020 DE 481, 030 DD 459

1929 electric CEF built Bo-Bo No. E 612

The front end of 1963 Alsthom built Co-Co electric No. CC 807

The front end of a De-Dietrich - Alsthom railcar (XDd-3)

Information received from Thomas Kautzor says that this is one of 8 units built in 1956 but only delivered in 1961 (Bo-2 DE, 100 h.p. traction + 210 h.p. auxillary, 140 km/hr, 58t, luggage compartment), together with 20 coaches of the following types :

-  1st class /bar

-  2nd class

-  2nd class / office

-  couchettes

-  sleeper / salon / observation

These air-conditioned units were originally intended for the night service between the port of Oran (Algeria), in connection with the maritime link from France, and Casablanca. Due to Morocco's independence this service was not to be and the units remained in store in France until 1961. They were then used on express day trains between Casablanca and Tangier, with two railcars and either 4 or 5 coaches in between (180-200 seats). They were also used on special charter trains, as well as for royal trains, until they were retired in 1975. The coaches were then used as hauled stock, joining the three couchettes coaches which were used on night trains between Casa and Oujda since 1961.
