The branch into the HKM Steelworks from one the main yards in Duisburg runs alongside the River Rhine in places. It is not electrified and sees a procession of trains hauled by DB and private operator locos, as well as those belonging to the steelworks itself. In early morning sunlight 294 406 reverses a train of empty steel flats into the yard of steel stockholder "Scharrer" 232 531 hauls a load of steel rods on August 17, 2005 No. 546 - one of the HKM Steelworks own locos - an MaK 1206 - works light towards the steelworks
