The Aqaba Railway Corp have three types of General Electric locomotives from Classes U.17, U.18 and U.20 for use on the freight only line from the phosphate mines to the port of Aqaba (300km line) The U17s are 1700hp and were built in 1975, they are numbered in the 900 series The U18s are 1800hp and were built in 1977, they are numbered in the 400 series The U20s are 2000hp and were built in 1982, they are numbered in the 300 series Two UM.10s are also on hire from the Hedjaz Jordan Railway in Amman for shunting in sidings at Ma'an Nos.302 and 316 head empties north from Aqaba to Umran on December 22, 2005 Nos 315 and 310 on a northbound train seen east of Rum on December 26, 2005 Nos 315 and 310 head north to Hisa on December 24, 2005 Nos 302 and 314 southbound to Aqaba near Ytum on December 26, 2005 More shots from the Aqaba Railway
