Alexandria has an intensive commuter service. The trains are loco hauled with a driver trailer at the Alexandria end. Stoning of the locos must be a problem as when in propelling mode the windows have metal shutters over them.

No.3840 at El Hadara station with the 08:45hrs to Abu Qir on May 28, 2008

East of El Hadara station (not the best part of town) No.3877 works the 09:00hrs to Abu Qir on the same day

No.3858 on the 09:15hrs to Abu Qir in the same area

EMD No.3459 works an eastbound express on May 28, 2008
